Newbiggin By The Sea

Couple Sculpture Installation by Sean Henry

    1. It is a very friendly place, and small enough where everybody still knows everybody.

My friends are from down the coast in Hebburn but are very proud of their Northumbrian Heritage so its always very informative when we visit 🙂

I bet you can look up your ancestors and relatives on line these days 🙂

      1. Yes, I did and they are a fascinating lot. John’s nephew became Scotland’s foremost ironmaster. John had 23 children by three wives and owned The Dunbarton Glassworks. He died in 1814. I descend from the middle wife- Mary Pickering. His first wife- Elizabeth Dodds married him in Newburn in 1755.
