Poetry Corner: The Ghosts of

The unexpected arrival of once thought forgotten memories
The sometime gentle wafting strokes of once lost joy soothing todays brow
Or the searing broken of betrayal that blackens every petal of everlasting night

The pearls and turns of yesteryear remind us of those we lost
And the future tries to promise balance in friends not foe
The clock is ticking as the memories stack, and still they wait shadowy attack

No battlements manned, no table is set, hope and welcome fools abandon
Magic tales and glories myth, ghosts of the future and of the past lost in the rush
The present a gift expected, not treasured, never thought to have any price
